Polishing wheel is used for polishing workpiece surface and coating. Polishing wheel is divided into: polishing cloth wheel, hemp wheel, nylon wheel, wiring wheel, wind wheel, wool wheel, etc., more kinds.

introduction

Polishing wheel, it is a pressed flat wheel, it is made of a number of polishing wheel plate pressed together, each polishing wheel surface is evenly coated with a layer of polishing oil layer. No separate oiling is required during the polishing process. It is simple in structure and easy to use.

Main materials

The material of polishing wheel is slightly different from polishing wheel. It is made of various kinds of cotton cloth, fine felt, silk, deer skin, sisal, horse hair and so on. In addition, in order to save cotton and wool fabrics made of special paper cloth wheels are also widely used. [1]

type

The hardness of polishing wheel is determined by the distance of stitching line. The smaller the distance of stitching line is, the higher the hardness of polishing wheel is. In order to make the polishing wheel softer, the polishing wheel should be made with sufficient distance between the stitches and the edge of the wheel (there are also unstitched lines). A polishing wheel with a special air cooling device is also used for polishing large workpieces.

Polishing wheel according to the production of the following kinds of:

(1) non-stitched cloth wheel. Made of fine soft cotton cloth, suitable for polishing complex shape workpiece, or for fine polishing small workpiece.

(2) Suture type. It is made of coarse cloth, non-woven cloth and fine plain cloth. The stitches can be in the form of concentric circle spiral and straight radiation. It is suitable for polishing various coatings and simple shapes.

(3) Air cold cloth wheel. The 45 degree Angle line cutting method is used, which is in the shape of ring folds. The metal disc is installed in the middle, which has the characteristics of ventilation and heat dissipation. It is suitable for polishing large workpiece.

(4) Felt wheel. Made of pure wool, long shrinkage time tight organization, small pores, not as the fabric is limited by warp and weft, good wear resistance.

According to the main material classification has the following:

(1) emery cloth page wheel. By a variety of different granularity, different abrasive (such as corundum, silicon carbide) made of emery cloth. Its cutting rate is high, suitable for grinding, polishing, burring and finishing of various types of materials.

(2) cotton polishing wheel. It's made of different kinds of cotton. Using different dipping methods and different abrasives, it can be used for semi-polishing, polishing and mirror polishing.

(3) Mixing polishing wheel of hemp and cotton. The use of linen or cotton lining, generally after dipping treatment, with the help of a variety of abrasive agents, can be the initial polishing and polishing.

(4) Synthetic material -- non-woven polishing wheel. Synthetic materials use nylon silk, binder, abrasive made of non-woven fabric, as raw materials, made of various shapes of polishing wheel, because of its own abrasive, generally do not use abrasive agent, more used for polishing.

Polishing speed

edit

When polishing, the circumference speed of the polishing wheel should be higher than that of the polishing wheel. Different metal materials should choose the circumference speed of the polishing wheel.

The optimum circumferential velocity of pig iron, copper and nickel is 30-35m /s.

The optimum circumferential velocity of copper, copper alloy and silver is 22-30m /s.

The best circumferential velocity of aluminum, aluminum alloy, zinc, tin and lead is 18 ~ 25m/s. [2]

use

edit

In the motor power determines the size of polishing wheel, the motor shaft must be matched with the aperture of polishing wheel. Place the polishing wheel in the center of the rotating shaft and tighten it with a wrench. The best polishing effect can be obtained only when the linear speed on the surface of the polishing wheel is uniform. Therefore, if a large polishing wheel is used with a smaller motor, the linear speed will decrease a lot during polishing, and the polishing effect will be affected.
